Folsom State Prison

 In California during a period of Leary's incarceration in the 1970s. Although they couldn't see each other, they reportedly spoke frequently through their cell walls. 

The conversations reportedly included discussions about their philosophies and interpretations of events from the 1960s. Manson allegedly expressed surprise that Leary gave people LSD without attempting to control them. According to one account, Manson told Leary, "They took you off the streets so that I could continue with your work".
